Our Home Block – Flaxman Valley
Our third bottling from our beloved home block, situated on the border of Flaxman / Eden Valley. We planted our home block from cuttings taken from some very esteemed local vineyards. Our home block consistently provides fruit of great intensity and flavour at low to moderate alcohol levels. And interestingly enough for all the soil geeks out there. Our vineyard is situated in the very epicenter of the 35 million year old Flaxman Crater!
The 2025 release, for the first time, features ‘Truffle Hill’ and ‘The Quarry Block’. These tiny vineyards are situated at the highest point of our property. 2025 saw just one single Hogshead, filled from 690 vines up on this hill, we included select bunches of Marsanne, Roussanne & Viognier from our little Contour Block that where Co-Fermented. This precious cargo travelled just 90 meters to our little winery. Post fermentation & pressing. It spent its time in a lightly seasoned, high-quality French oak Hogshead for 15 months with no additions apart from a little Sulphur.
It a vibrant, aromatic, pure wine with spice that does a dance of elegance and understated power. With the first two releases receiving 95 points from Erin Larkin at the Wine Advocate. Our home block continues to deliver - It’s a wine we are very proud to call home.
