Angove Family Crest Tempranillo is a deep, brooding red. This wine exhibits intense aromas dark cherry, blackcurrant and sandalwood. These continue onto the palate where they are joined by delicate spice and subtle soft tannins.
The crushed fruit was cooled to 15c and macerated on skins without inoculation to extract the delicious fruit characters typical of Tempranillo. Daily mixing of skins and juice extracted more body during fermentation. The free run wine and soft pressings from the basket press were combined before barrelling up. French oak, both new and used, were employed to firstly complete MLF and then mature the wine before final assemblage some 13 months later.
