Wangolina Originals Cabernet Sauvignon is bright and youthful with nuances of blackcurrant, red plum, graphite, tobacco and crushed mint.
The grapes were fermented in small open fermenters, plunged twice per day. Fermentation took approx 10 days to complete before the wine was pressed out into a mix of 35% new and 65% seasoned French oak barrels. The wine was allowed to mature for 20 months prior to bottling.
Grown and nurtured in the Wangolina vineyard on the coast in Mt Benson, the Cabernet Sauvignon was planted in 1999. Spur pruned by hand, selectively harvested when ready and minimally irrigated.
The Originals range of wines are the classic varieties that are grown and made in Wangolina’s cool coastal vineyard in Mt Benson. They were the first varieties they planted in 1999 and they have shaped their winemaking path in a small & rugged wine region.
