This blended Islay malt has been matured in a single sherry hogshead.
This marriage of single malts combines the heavy smoky styles of Islay with the full bodied richness of sherry cask maturation.
This is a limited edition of 385 bottles.
Colour: Deep Mahogany.
Nose: Aromas of savoury cherry and plum reduction, orange zest, ashy fruitcake, and salted butter. This is followed by fatty smoky burnt bacon, rich leather, polished wooden furniture, loose tobacco leaf, and a hint of peppermint.
Palate: An initial hit of earthy peat with a touch of iodine gives way to sherried richness. It rolls around the palate with dark berries and burnt caramel.
Finish: Sherry sweetness, oaky tannins, pencil shavings and honeycomb, lingering salinity.
